We build for the generation that was born online

The Indian Alpha exists because Gen Alpha — the kids born from roughly 2010 onwards — are the first generation to grow up with Instagram, YouTube and AI as default infrastructure. And the safety tools protecting them were built for someone else.

Our name is deliberate. “Indian” because the problems we solve are Indian problems — code-mixed abuse, caste-based harassment, colourism, Romanized slurs that English-trained AI simply cannot read. “Alpha” because Gen Alpha is who we build for, and because we believe this generation deserves technology that was designed for them, not adapted from a Western template after the fact.

Our first product: CleanFeed India

CleanFeed India is an AI comment moderation tool for Instagram that understands abuse in English, Hinglish, Romanized Punjabi and Romanized Bengali — the four languages Indian Gen Alpha actually types in.

It works because it doesn’t try to make an English model work for Hinglish. It routes every comment to a language-specific moderation model, escalates uncertain cases rather than silently approving them, and caches repeat abuse so blocking it is effectively free.

CleanFeed India is currently in private beta.

Why this matters

India is Instagram’s largest market. Millions of young Indian creators, from kid influencers to teen artists, live in public comment sections where the moderation infrastructure cannot read the languages they’re being abused in.

This is not a content policy problem. It’s an engineering problem. And we’re building the engineering to fix it.

The team

The Indian Alpha is a small, India-first team building at the intersection of AI safety, multilingual NLP and child protection.
